please critique this tiller/stock dimensions

Apologies for the terminology errors, but as the tiller of my current project is getting toward completion, I want to check how sketchy the dimensions of the jaws for the lath/prod might be before everything is varnished and lashed together. The thickness of the top 'jaw' is 8mm, composed of 3mm bone bolt-table and 5mm apple wood, the bottom jaw being 6mm thick of which 1.5mm is an antler inlay. The lath cut-out is 1/2" deep. The bridle hole centre is set back 2.5 inches from the lath cut-out.  ...
